We wczesnych latach 50-tych plac był nadal niemal zupełnie pusty. Budynki z prawej, choć nadal stoja, zostaną później wyburzone (wskazanie myszy na zdjęcie pokaże rzadkie, kolorowe zdjęcie tego samego miejsca z roku 1935).
